Create the characters
After engaging in a series of discussions with the client and presenting initial thumbnails, I was able to grasp the intended feel for the piece. This collaborative process helped shape my vision and direction. Once we aligned on the overall aesthetic, I proceeded to design the background, ensuring it complemented the theme and mood we aimed to achieve. With the backdrop in place, I designed and positioned the characters, paying attention to their placement and interaction within the scene. This thoughtful approach allowed the characters to come to life against a backdrop that not only supports the narrative but also enhances the visual appeal of the overall composition. The result is a cohesive artwork that resonates with the desired vision, reflecting both the client’s input and my creative interpretation.
The pieces in place
Once the pieces were in place, I eagerly set to work creating the cartoon designed to transfer my art to canvas. This stage was just the beginning, as the real magic happened when the artwork began to come to life with vibrant colors and intricate details. As it progressed it began to capturing the essence of the concept. Both my client and I were very satisfied with the final product. It always feels good when you successfully turn an idea into a captivating visual tale. This collaborative journey with my client really worked out as we modernized this follow up to a painting I had done for them 20 years ago.

Set the stage
Creating this project was an incredibly fun and meaningful experience for me. When Level 99 approached me to submit an art project idea for their new gaming location, I proposed a concept for a zombie-themed television, accompanied by some preliminary sketches. Once I received the green light, I faced the challenge of constructing a functional, safe, and stable television—something entirely new to me. Fortunately, my dad stepped in to help, and together we embarked on this collaborative journey. Working side by side not only strengthened our bond but also allowed us to bring this imaginative project to life, blending creativity and family teamwork in a unique way.
.
I was absolutely thrilled with the outcome of this project, and the excitement was shared by my dad and the client as well. This project was special to me because I had a distinct vision that required me to explore and learn numerous new techniques to bring it to life. The process was challenging but equally rewarding, and seeing the final product exceeded my expectations, And I got to share that with my father. . If you're interested in experiencing it firsthand, you can find it on display at Level 99 in Providence, Rhode Island. I can't wait for others to see what I've created!
